Fewer homes get listed over the holidays, which means less competition for sellers and more attention from buyers who are house hunting seriously, not just browsing on a Sunday afternoon.

That said, timing isn’t one-size-fits-all. If your home shows better with a full yard in bloom, or if you need a few more months to finish repairs, waiting can make sense. But if it’s ready now, listing in the quieter months often means a faster sale with less price pressure, simply because there’s less inventory pulling attention away from your home.
